Last updated: 3 November 2026
This policy explains how Uptimetalent Ltd, trading as Uptime Talent (“we”, “us”, “our”), collects, uses and protects personal information when you use our website, contact us, apply for a role, or work with us as a client. We are a specialist recruitment business serving UK manufacturing, engineering and industrial employers.
Who we are
Uptimetalent Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 17560587. Our address is 7 Victoria Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 7HS. We are the “controller” of the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
If you have any question about this policy or how we handle your information, email us at hello@uptimetalent.co.uk.

Website visitors: our website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising, and we do not use analytics tools. If you email us, we keep the message and your email address. Our site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means your device’s IP address is sent to Google to deliver the font files.
We do not knowingly collect special category information, such as health or ethnicity, unless it is necessary for a role and you choose to give it to us, for example about reasonable adjustments. Please do not include this in a CV unless you are comfortable doing so.
Where we get your information from
- directly from you, for example when you send us a CV, apply for a role, or speak to us
- from publicly available professional sources, such as LinkedIn and other professional networking sites, company websites and job boards
- from CV databases and job boards you have used or registered with
- from referees and from other people who recommend you
- from our clients, when they give us details about a vacancy or a contact
How we use your information, and our legal reasons
We only use personal information when the law allows us to. The main reasons are:
- Legitimate interests. We use contact and career information to find, approach and put forward suitable people for roles, to keep in touch about relevant opportunities, to manage our relationships with clients, and to run and improve our business. We consider the impact on you and do not rely on this where your rights outweigh our interests.
- Taking steps at your request, or a contract. We use your information to represent you for a role you have asked us to pursue, and to provide our services to clients.
- Legal obligation. For example, right-to-work checks, tax and accounting records, and responding to lawful requests.
- Consent. Where the law requires it, such as before sending you certain marketing by email or sharing sensitive information, we will ask for your consent. You can withdraw it at any time.
We will not put your details forward to a client without your agreement.
Who we share your information with
- Clients, when you have agreed to be put forward for a role, which may include your CV and relevant details
- Service providers that help us run our business, such as email and cloud storage providers, recruitment and CRM software, and IT support
- Payroll, umbrella and finance providers, and referencing and screening providers, where needed to place someone in an interim role
- Professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers and insurers
- Authorities and regulators, where the law requires it
We do not sell personal information.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our service providers may process information outside the UK. When this happens, we make sure it is protected by an appropriate safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or approved standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep your information
We keep candidate information for as long as we have a legitimate reason to, which is usually up to two years after our last meaningful contact with you. If you ask us to delete it sooner, we will. Information about clients is kept for as long as our business relationship continues and for a reasonable period afterwards. We keep some records, such as accounts and right-to-work evidence, for the periods the law requires.
How we protect your information
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect personal information, including password-protected systems and limited access. No system is completely secure, but we take care with the information we hold and will tell you and the regulator if a breach puts your rights at risk.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you
- ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or out of date
- ask us to delete your information, in some circumstances
- ask us to restrict how we use your information, in some circumstances
- object to our use of your information where we rely on legitimate interests, and to object to direct marketing at any time
- receive your information in a portable format, in some circumstances
- withdraw your consent, where we rely on it
To use any of these rights, email hello@uptimetalent.co.uk. We may need to check your identity, and we will normally reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Marketing
We may email business contacts about our services and candidates about relevant roles. You can ask us to stop at any time, by replying to the email or writing to hello@uptimetalent.co.uk, and we will do so promptly.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
